This bundle has many activities! It includes all aspects of the 5th grade common core objectives related to order of operations!
Write and interpret numerical expressions.
Use parentheses, brackets, or braces in numerical expressions, and evaluate expressions with these symbols.
Write simple expressions that record calculations with numbers, and interpret numerical expressions without evaluating them. For example, express the calculation "add 8 and 7, then multiply by 2" as 2 × (8 + 7). Recognize that 3 × (18932 + 921) is three times as large as 18932 + 921, without having to calculate the indicated sum or product.
* 7 note guides for journals (one or more for all objectives)
* sample expressions for group practice (different levels)
* 4 sets of differentiated task cards:
writing equations from words and situations
writing words to represent given expressions
* differentiated homework
* differentiated daily grade formative assessment
* 2 differentiated centers
(Both are enrichment.)
* Ideas and notes for implementation
This does not include decimals or fractions. We do incorporate these later in the year, but at this point, students are not working fluently with decimals and fractions using all operations. Because 5th grade common core does not include variables, they are not included here. (I plan to post additional tasks with fractions, decimals, and variables soon!)
You will need 24 game for one activity. If you don't have it, the website is included. You can use samples from the website or skip it. It is worth the purchase!
If you have any questions or requests, please leave a note in on the questions tab of my TPT page. If you are satisfied with this product please leave feedback!
