Need a quick formative assessment to make sure your kids "get" order of operations?
In search of a way to pair your students up while still practicing a math concept?
Looking for a more intensive matching game for your older students?
Wanting to differentiate a lesson or review of order of operations?
Then this card game is for you!
Each of the 26 cards has an expression that must be solved by using the correct order of operations. Half of the cards show a correct solution...but the other half show an incorrect solution! Have your students solve the expression they get to see if their card is correct or incorrect, and use the enclosed suggestions card to utilize this game as either formative assessment, a lead-in to buddy work, an opportunity for student-led math instruction (as they share their work on the board and analyze their procedure), or even a challenging matching game! Plus, thanks to the handy color-coded font, you can easily differentiate by giving your struggling students the blue problems (which have less steps or don't include exponents or parentheses) and giving your advanced students the red problems.
A versatile and useful game!!
