This manipulative is a MUST HAVE for those students learning the order of operations or those that struggle with them. As they add steps in completing the order of operations, they get confused on the order in which to complete the simplification.
This manipulative should be placed directly above the line that needs to be simplified. Students will start with (grouping symbols) and rotate it around until they have simplified the expression completely. Students will only be able to see one line at a time and therefore will be less overwhelmed in completing the simplification.
