To solve this Mystery Picture, students must use order of operations. Exponents are used in almost every problem, but only to the second power (squaring). Students should have a working knowledge of negative integers. Students each need 4 different colors. 10 total practice problems - see thumbnails for preview of worksheet and grid.
My new Mystery Picture series is a lot like color-by-numbers, except that students have to solve problems to figure out which numbers to color! Each Mystery Picture zip file contains a worksheet with the problems, a grid to color, and keys for each. You can see the entire worksheet and grid in the thumbnails to make sure that it is appropriate for your class. Every design is created so that no specific colors have to be used - students can use whatever colors they would like and the image should still "read" well enough.
