This resource was created to help to guide students in their understanding of the order of operations. It does not include exponents in the practice, only mentioning that the E stands for exponents and will be learned later.
There are seven pages of guided notes, which includes following the order of operations, as well as additional questions that will arrive with different problems (a number outside the parentheses without a side in between, multiple operations within parentheses, and multiple set of parentheses). Also included is a notes page with the acronym PEMDAS, as well as a notes page with common signs that are used for different operations. In addition, there is a reproducible PEMDAS checklist, with four checklists on the page. I laminate these so that students can use them again and again.
There are four sets of practice (each two-sided for a total of eight pages) with answer keys. Practice #1 and #2 sets include only expressions to solve. Practice #3 and #4 include a wider range of questions that involve the order of operations.
As always, please contact me BEFORE leaving feedback if you have any questions or concerns. I'm happy to help whenever I can!
