This foldable is a great scaffolding tool to use in the classroom. It is a little large to fit into an interactive notebook, but could be resized after printing to make it work.
I left the PEMDAS blank along the side as I know not all students use the same mnemonic device to remember the order. There is one example on the inside of the foldable to complete together as a whole group. On the back outside of the foldable, there are 4 additional problems for students to try on their own, or with a partner.
My students love the strategy called "Whip Around". Each child stands back to back with a partner. They have a certain amount of time to try each problem. When the time is up, you say, "Whip around!" Each child shows their partner the answer they came up with. I get great participation using that! Just an idea!
