This activity is rigorous and fun! It also integrates TECHNOLOGY!

Students will become lie detectors while completing an error analysis on each problem!

In partners- Students will work through each problem. Students will determine which problems are Truths (correctly done) and Lies (incorrectly done) and put the cards on the sorting mat. Students should be instructed to justify their thinking with their partners. You should hear good conversations about why a card is a truth or a lie.

Students will analyze 18 different problems.

After students are completely done sorting, students will scan the QR codes at the bottom to reveal the correct answers. The answers are the letters in the bottom corner of each card.

Students should be instructed to look back at their mistakes and figure out why they incorrectly sorted the card.

If you do not have access to QR Code reader, I have included the answer key in the teacher instructions, so you do not need a QR code reader to have the students complete this activity!
