Scavenger hunts are great self-checking tools to use in whole group or in small group stations. This activity will get your students out of their seats and engaged. My favorite part is that the students do not have to ask "is this correct" because if they can not find their answer they are not correct. This allows me to work one on one with struggling students with less interruptions. They also make a great center!
This scavenger hunt works specifically on order of operations without exponents
Included in this scavenger hunt are 15 order of operations problems.
This scavenger hunt also specifically covers the TEKS 5.4F
5.4F - Simplify numerical expressions that do not involve exponents, including up to two levels of grouping.
Use parentheses, brackets, or braces in numerical expressions, and evaluate expressions with these symbols.
Note: The answer key for the product is listed within each task card. If students are unable to find their answer on another card they know they made a mistake. Because the cards can be answered in any order I have not included a teacher answer key.
