These sets were designed to be used either together in sequence or separately. They are also available in both color and a printer-friendly black and white. If a teacher wished to scaffold students’ understanding of the order of operations he/she could first teach the topic and give the first set as a review exercise to purely check for understanding not computation skills. The following day a new round of questioning could be to do the second set and actually solve the equations. These could also be given to different subgroups within the class to differentiate across levels. As stated above, one might also just choose to give one set or the other.
