Solve & Draw resources provide that practice in a unique and creative way that will keep students engaged as they practice and review with the Order of Operations! This is a bundle of No-Prep Printables and Task Cards for the order of operations using positive integers.

Resource #1: Solve & Draw Task Cards
Solve & Draw Task Cards are an easy way to give your students engaging practice with the order of operations. This set of 40 differentiated Task Cards includes five leveled sets of 8 task cards. Each level includes all steps of the order of operations using positive integers. Each level has a different level of scaffolding provided.

How Solve & Draw Task Cards Work:

Students solve the order of operations problems and add to the drawing based on their answer. Each leveled set includes a drawing page and 8 task cards. You also receive a full color version of the drawing page – perfect for projecting onto an interactive whiteboard and having students take turns drawing on as you correct the work! Task cards are included in both color and black-and-white. An answer sheet with workspace is provided and may be copied on to the back of the drawing or printed separately.

HINT: For a quick, no prep version of this activity (think emergency sub plan!) you may use the scaffolded version of the student answer sheet instead of the task cards. For example, for the first set you would only need to print page 4 (student coloring page) and page 5 (scaffolded answer sheet) and students will be able to complete the activity!

Set 1 (Star): Level 1
Includes detailed PEMDAS graphic and example problem

Set 2 (Cat): Level 2

Set 3 (Pandas): Level 3

Resource #2: Solve & Draw No Prep Printables

All you have to do is print the pages! Students solve the problems and add to the drawing based on their answers. To keep them guessing, each problem may have one correct drawing prompt, two, or none. Each page has an average of 7 responses that require drawing. Drawing is no-prep because it can be done with the student’s normal writing utensil (pen or pencil). You may choose to allow colored pencils, crayons, or markers but they are not required. This works well as a homework option for families who may not have those supplies to offer and is an excellent emergency sub folder resource!

Included Skills:
- Addition, subtraction, multiplication & division only, Level 1 and 1.5
- Parentheses added, Level 2 and 2.5
- Exponents added, Level 3 and 3.5
- Decimals included, Level 4
- Negative numbers included, Level 5

An optional challenge page is included that can be copied on the back of the worksheet – this gives students an extension opportunity by asking them to create a math problem that fits one of the incorrect drawing prompts or to create a math problem and their own drawing prompts.

Included: 8 drawing pages total, plus Challenge page and answer keys for each page.
