This game includes 24 game cards with five problems on each card. That is a total of 120 problems to evaluate expressions using the order of operations! NOTE: this set does not include exponents, but it does included nested parentheses.
It is a game for 2-4 players in which the object is to win all the cards. The game is played as follows. All the cards are dealt as equally as possible to the players. The players place their cards in a face down stack in front them and flip the first card face up. The starting player - normally the player to the left of the dealer - chooses one attribute - for example, strength. Everyone solves the problem for that attribute. Whoever has the greatest (or least) solution to the math problem wins all the first cards, collects them and places them in a set to the side. Whoever won the cards then chooses any attribute to read from their next card, and again whoever has the winning solution to the math problem of this attribute on their top card wins the cards and has the next turn. Play continues in this fashion until the players’ stacks of cards have been exhausted. The player with the most sets won wins the game.
TOP TRUMPS WAR - Play as above, except the cards won are placed at the bottom of the player’s stack. Play continues until one player has won all the cards.
TOP TRUMPS TRAINING SCORES – Each round a different attribute is played and scored on the scorecard. Attributes are played in the order they appear on the scorecard. When the scorecard is complete, players check their answers against the key. If an answer is incorrect, the player loses those points. The players then total the points they have earned for a final score. The person with the highest total is the victor. This variation allows for recording a grade.
TASK CARDS – use the game cards as task cards for individual practice.
