Applying the order of operations can be tricky in 5th grade and often requires additional practice and support to master. This packet focuses on solving problems with parenthesis and exponents. Students are asked to solve a variety of problems (using words and numbers) and provide a written explanation/justification of their thinking.
This is a great follow up for Focused Daily Review - Order of Operations - No Exponents
This product includes four days of practice pages and a quiz which assesses student understanding. This can be used as morning work or for small group differentiated instruction. I have used this in my class as a quick and easy way to assess student understanding and gather data for our standards based report cards. The quiz can also be used as a pre assessment to determine present levels of understanding.
