I am using this partner TIC TAC TOE activity as a review for a pre-algebra final exam. It could also be used for beginning of the year/intro to Algebra.
Of course it could also be used as a simple 9-question review!
Students work in partners. They are to solve the problem and have their partner check it. If they are correct, they can put their X or O in that space. Otherwise, they lose their turn and the other partner can begin. They are checking each other's work and trying to make 3 in a row.
There are 5 simplifying questions requiring the knowledge of the Order of Operations (or PEMDAS) and 4 squares requiring students solve for a variable in a one-step equation.
Answer key included for quick and easy assessment!
