Product Description
In this package, students will have the opportunity to practice identifying and matching ordinal number words with their digit symbols. This package has two parts: a puzzle activity in which students use cutting and gluing to match ordinal number words with their digit symbols (for example, first and 1st) and task cards/math center in which students use crayons to color objects according to their positions in a series.

In the puzzle activity, students are to cut out the rectangles on the Ordinal Numbers Puzzle sheets. Each rectangle (32 total – 16 per sheet) contains the digit symbol for an ordinal number (for example, 1st). Each rectangle has a matching ordinal number word/words on the Ordinal Numbers Answer sheets (for example, first). Students should glue the matching rectangles onto the answer sheets. If all rectangles are glued correctly, a puzzle piece picture will be made. Students can color the completed answer sheets. Ordinal numbers in this activity include: 1st through 25th, 30th, 40th, 50th, 60th, 70th, 80th, 90th.

In the task cards activity, there are 10 Ordinal Number Activity Cards – two per page. These are used with the Ordinal Numbers Word Spinner and the Ordinal Numbers Color Spinner. Assemble the spinners in your favorite method to make spinners. Each task card has 24 small illustrations of identical objects – socks, apples, pencils, etc. When students spin the Word Spinner, it tells them which ordinal number they are working with. When they spin the Color Spinner, it tells them which color to use. For example, in the task card with socks, a student spins the Word Spinner and gets seventh. Next, he/she counts the socks (from left to right) and finds the seventh sock. Then he/she spins the Color Spinner and gets blue; he/she should color the seventh sock blue – and so on.
