Ordinal Numbers Practice (First-Tenth) (Set 2)
Your students will have fun practicing ordinal numbers with these fun sheets. Each sheet focuses on a specific ordinal number (first-tenth) included in a short story. Under each story there is a row of 10 images from the story. Using these images, there are 3 directions to follow to show understanding of ordinal numbers such as “color the third car red, put an X over the eighth car, and circle the first car.”
Some of the images are lined up facing left to right (such as the school buses, chicks, and cars) while others are lined up facing right to left (such as the fish and dinosaurs). The teacher should point out that the front of the line (first) depends on the direction of the line. Other images are simply ordered from left to right as we would read a sentence because the images are not turned to the left or right (such as the ribbons, hamburgers, and owls).
The short story at the top of each page provides a great READING CONNECTION also.
Additional instructions can be added by the teacher to include all ordinal numbers (first-tenth) in the directions for each page. Other colors can be used to color the remaining images and ordinal positions such as color the second car yellow and color the fifth car purple until all ordinal positions are included.
I hope your students enjoy this activity.
