PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Fort Laramie was a major stop along the Oregon Trail, the California Trail, and the Oregon Trail. The U.S. Cavalry manned Fort Laramie to offer protection and supplies to the pioneers traveling westward during the 1800’s. The author uses her own photographs to take you on a tour of this amazing fort. Viewers will see the barracks, the mess hall, the jailhouse, the captain’s house, and the trading post. You will also see the post office of Fort Laramie and the monument to the Pony Express riders who came through Fort Laramie to pick up and deliver the mail. A camp laundress and several soldiers participate in living history which adds to the pioneer experience of Fort Laramie. This PowerPoint can easily be adapted for a variety of grade levels.
