Product Description
Looking for an elementary music lesson that has the option of utilizing soprano recorders? Your elementary music students will love the engaging activities and the interactive slides included in the lesson plan, the PowerPoint or Web version of the visuals. You will love that you can use the song and the Orff arrangement for a performance piece on a music program or concert! Perfect addition to your Orff lessons and Kodaly lessons!

The folk song has been extended with an original B section making it a perfect piece for a musical experience or performance. Use the traditional A section to work on playing GAB on the soprano recorder. The B section (with an original melody and lyrics) was written so students could continue to practice reading and playing GAB on the recorder and be immediately successful. Add the optional descant to work on high C and D on the recorder.

The set of Lesson Plans and interactive visuals include:

• 8 lessons each 4-10 minutes (6 pdf pages) plus an Orff Orchestration. The lesson plans include detailed instructions for teaching the song, recorder, melody (Do Re Mi), movement, form, descant, instruments and Orff Orchestration. Extensions and adaptions are also addressed.

• 46 visuals (with 43 slides being teacher and/or student interactive) may be used to reinforce recorder playing, melodic reading and aurally identifying melodic patterns. You will have everything you need to teach all the lessons. The PowerPoint works very well with Smartboards - just touch the board to activate the sound effects and the animations.

It is a perfect piece to address curricular concepts while enjoying making music. It is also a great spiraling activity. Teach “Frog in the Meadow” to your first year recorder players and bring it back the following year adding the B section and or the descant. Or just use the lesson and ear training slides to teach the song “Frog in the Meadow” (Do Re Mi).
