Do you sing the song using quarter notes or eighth notes? No problem, this resource has both versions available - choose the one that best fits your needs. Your elementary music students will LOVE the engaging activities and the interactive slides included in the lesson plan, the PowerPoint, tablet or Web version of the visuals.
A lesson that is easily added to your Orff lessons and Kodaly lessons while incorporating singing, instruments, melody, improvisation, rhythm and form. The song has been extended with original B section and C section allowing opportunities for improvisation and instrument rotation. Detailed instructions on teaching all the activities allows your students a chance to move while they are singing and enjoying music.
The set of Lesson Plans and interactive visuals include:
• 6 detailed lessons each 6-15 minutes (7 pages) plus an Orff arrangement (3 pages) are included for teaching the song, Orff ensemble and music activities to first through third grade. Kindergarten adaptations are also included. It is also a great spiraling lesson. Bring back the activities when you need to work on melody and sol mi la or sol mi with the extended lesson and interactive slides.
• 28 visuals (with 19 slides being teacher and/or student interactive) may be used to reinforce reading rhythms and melodies, playing instruments and aurally identifying melodic patterns. You will receive 2 sets of visuals so regardless if you sing the song using quarter notes or eighth notes you will have everything you need to teach all the lessons. Please note you are not charged for the second set of visuals.
It is a perfect piece to add to a music program and concert or just to sing and dance in music class addressing curricular concepts as appropriate. You do not need to utilize the Orff arrangement in order for your class to enjoy making music with this product.
