Orff-inspired arrangement to accompany the book, "The Spider and The Fly" by Mary Howett and Tony DiTerlizzi. The main melody is played on recorder, utilizing an F#, so this is for students who have had more than just beginning recorder instruction. The accompanying percussion parts can be doubled with multiple barred instruments as well as boomwhackers. Parts of the orchestration are sparse on purpose, to add to the suspense, and provide an excellent opportunity to feel the weight of a rest. Can be used in the classroom or as part of a performance; I used this arrangement on a school concert with my 5th grade music students.
