Start of the year or start of the term lesson on motivation, organization, and planning homework. You will receive a four-day lesson focused on:
Day 1: Reflect and Prepare
— Reflection and Preparing for the Term
— What is Motivation? How do you motivate?
Day 2: Organize and Look at Planning Process
— Starting Fresh: Organizing Your stuff and Time Management
— Organizing Assignments: Using a planner
Day 3: Practice a Weekly Plan
— Prioritize Your Thoughts, Actions and Tasks
Day 4: Distractions and Curveballs
— How do you avoid pitfalls or tasks that get in the way
You will also receive a daily organization sheet. This can be printed or used electronically. Each day students reflect on their goal (moment), homework and long term plan for the term.
These lessons are perfect for any teacher; however, special education teachers may find this resource most useful. This is a lesson I used when I was a special education EBD/LD teacher. It was helpful in organizing students and looking at long term and short term goals. It also allowed students an opportunity to reflect on their week.
Besides a PowerPoint lesson, you will receive a organizational template and worksheet for one of the lessons.
PowerPoint and Word document are editable. Questions--just ask!
