In order to monitor student progress and their current needs, I have created an organizational system that can be used for conferring during writers and readers workshops, planning and teaching strategy groups, and planning for guided reading. Each form has a space for the date and students names, along with room for teaching points and conferring notes. These forms can also be used as part of the Daily 5 structure.

In order to mark off when students meet the 1st grade CCSS goals, I've added "check-brics" that list all of the reading and writing standards, along with coordinating Speaking & Listening for partnership work.
