An 18 slide PowerPoint that covers the different levels biology is organized on. The slides start with an overview of all levels. The student is then introduced to each level starting with subatomic particles and moving up to the biosphere. It's a great big picture introduction or review of how biology is organized. A manipulative worksheet is also available to go along with the slide presentation.
The notes include a manipulative in which students cut out pictures that represent each level and place them on the worksheet before they view the PowerPoint. As the PowerPoint proceeds they can rearrange the pictures and glue them to the worksheet. Students will also fill out a short set of notes for each slide to reinforce the information. This worksheet could also be used as a standalone with teacher instructions. An answer key is included. The PowerPoint presentation is keyed to this worksheet although the worksheet can be used as a stand alone with teacher direction.
