Product Description
In this lesson, your students will gain experience with organizing data collected to answer a statistical question and constructing dot plots. After completing this lesson, your students will be able to distinguish between categorical and numerical data, organize collected data in a frequency table, display data using a dot plot, and describe distributions of data as uniform, symmetric, or skewed. This lesson includes detailed instructional suggestions that can easily be adapted to your students’ needs, a student assignment and answer key, and larger images of graphs and tables to be displayed in class. You can use this lesson to introduce or review dot plots with students in the middle grades (grades 6 – 9).
