How to use this product as a file folder game:
Cut out the Christmas trees and glue them to a file folder, five trees on each side. Make sure there is ample space between them to allow for a star on top of the tree and a present underneath. Cut out and laminate the stars and presents. Glue an envelop on the back of the file folder to store the pieces.
Students will count the ornaments. They will find the coordinating star and place it on the top of the tree, and then they will find the coordinating present and place it below the tree.
How to use this product incorporating movement:
Cut out and laminate the trees. Tape them around the room. Hand out the cut and laminated stars and presents, one to each student. While you play Christmas music your students will walk around the room looking for the coordinating tree to their present or star. When you stop the music everybody walks to stand by their tree.
How to use this product to form pairs or groups of three:
Follow the directions as you would for the movement activity. After they have found their tree they have formed a pair. If you need a group of three then you can hand out the trees to students as well. Students mingle around the room until the music stops and then find their two partners.
