Can your students change individual phonemes/sounds in a word? This packet provides you with explicit instructions in which a single phoneme is changed in order to practice this much needed skill.

Following up my popular beginning Change 1 game, I have put together lists of words with short vowels and initial and final blends. There are 8 lists as well as dictation sheets. One phoneme is changed in each word (real or nonsense). Each list contains 19 words so you can dictate all words at once or split list to use over 2 sessions.

This phonemic awareness task can be challenging so practice and have fun with it.

I use alpha chips with this activity but you can use letter tiles, paper and pencil, dry erase boards, etc. The possibilities are endless to make it multisensory!

For best results when using this product, you should be trained in a Structured Literacy Program. I am at the Certified Level/AOGPE and a Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist/IDA and have tutored privately for over 25 years. Products are inspired by my students and created to use with them daily. Please reach out with any questions and provide feedback to improve my product! I am happy to make adjustments to fit your needs.
