Explicit, systematic, multisensory, phonics instruction is important for struggling readers, particularly those with dyslexia.
I’m excited to share this set of 104 phonogram cards and posters in a back to back format with you. I am currently using them as part of my O-G lessons. The first part of the O-G lesson is a drill with phonogram flashcards. The teacher holds up a card. The student says the letter or phonogram, the key word for it, and the sound it makes. Sometimes students need a picture prompt to remember the key word, which is why I’ve included them.

-Please download the preview to see an image of what is included in this product.
- I've created phonogram cards in full color, BW, text only with both manuscript and cursive, and poster versions of every card, both manuscript and cursive.
-This is the BACK TO BACK version. (A fold-over card version of this product is now available for purchase as well.)
-You will want to photocopy the page with the phonogram on the front with the student response page that has the key word and its sound. For example, you should set your photocopier to double-side pages 4 and 5.
-This set is recommended for O-G instruction, therefore should be used with someone that has had Orton-Gillingham training.
This set will work well with Wilson instruction too.
-The cards are NOT in the order they should be introduced to a student. Please refer to an O-G scope and sequence chart for the correct order.
-Some phonograms have more than one sound. I decided to either include an image for the FIRST sound introduced or an image for all the sounds. For example, I made three separate cards for the phonogram ea: eat, steak and bread. I chose to do this for some of the trickier sounds for my students to recall.
-Since some phonograms have more than one sound, you may not want to use the picture cards. Or you may use the picture cards, but change to a text only card when more sounds are taught.
This is your own personal choice.
-Laminate these cards for longer lasting use.
-They are all numbered so you’ll have a full set of 93 cards, but they are NOT in the order they should be introduced to a student.
-Two images have been reused: top is also toy and the children singing are all for the –ng word family.
