These phonics sound spinners are a great tool for mixing up the Orton Gillingham routine for learning and practicing new sounds and patterns! Simply print out the spinners for the sound your students are learning, teach the sound, then have students practice reading the sound within words by spinning with a pencil and a paperclip and reading the words they land on!
55 sound patterns included, plus a blank template to print and make your own spinners if there is a sound you teach that I did not include in this set.
For accountability, I like to have kids put a tally mark with their pencil each time they land on and read a word, then at the end have them count the tallies to see how many times they read each word, how many words they read total, which word they landed on the most and least, etc.
I hope you find this resource useful for your Orton Gillingham or other phonics instruction!
