Following the Orton-Gillingham (OG) methodology of reading instruction, this checklist was developed to help teachers monitor student progress through the phonics skills progression. The checklist can be used as a quick reference for instructional scope and sequence, as well as a checklist to monitor skills which students have been taught. It are a great resource for lesson planning, progress report data collection for IEPs and special education services, as well as Response to Intervention (RTI) progress monitoring.
Included in this packet is a condensed, one page checklist including the major instructional topics in Orton-Gillingham instruction.
*This list is not meant to be a comprehensive list of instructional topics that can be taught through OG instruction. It is meant to be used as a quick reference to the primary concepts. Orton-Gillingham instruction should be tailored to the student, and so scope and sequence can vary based on individual student needs.
