Biology or Life Science Lab: Diffusion Through a NonLiving Membrane
Suitable for students in grades 7-12.
This simple experiment will demonstrate the semipermeable nature of the cell membrane. Students will observe that some substances pass freely across a membrane, while other substances cannot pass through the membrane. This lab has a very simple materials list, and it works every time. Analysis questions are thought-provoking and require critical thinking skills.
