William Shakespeare's Othello provides students with a reason to think!
Students are given prompt questions to answer in a response booklet they personally create and personalize.
The prompt questions will help students to think further about what they read in class and will also help them to evaluate character, conflict, theme much more!
A response booklet is not a journal; rather, an evaluation of the text as students read. Students will be given daily prompt questions to answer in a one page response.
I usually allow students at least 15 minutes at the end of class to write their responses. Often, this assignment works excellent as an exit ticket or as a daily homework assignment to help them review the material read.
Daily page numbers are given as well as the prompt question and instructions for students to create the response booklets.
There are three pages total.
The book we read in class is the following: Shakespeare Made Easy: Othello. This text is the modern English version with side by side full original text. This text is published by Barron's Publishing.
