While teaching Shakespeare's plays in my class I needed a way to assign roles while being fair, consistent, and not take up a lot of time in the beginning of class deciding who would read which role!
The first document in this bundle is a survey which asks students to circle the length of role they are comfortable performing, along with sample characters that speak in that role.
The next document is a list of all characters in each act in table by character/length of role/student assigned to that role for the whole act. In my class students are assigned a role for an entire act so that there is some consistency with the part, and we only switch students every few days. One of these forms is editable, and the other is in PDF form. I hang the list on the board at the start of every new act--it makes it fun for them to find out what role they've been cast :)
The last document is a PDF of every character in every SCENE by act, so that way not all students are standing up at the same time only to realize they are in this act, but NOT this scene.
Please remember to provide feedback so that I may continually update my products :) I will be adding this same bundle soon for Hamlet, and Much Ado About Nothing. There is one for Romeo and Juliet already in the store!
