Your students will have a blast taking on the role of psychologists in order to diagnose Iago with a possible personality disorder.
This activity is a great way to foster discussion and review key quotes and plot points after finishing your class reading of Othello by William Shakespeare.
This activity can also be extended over two class periods if students share their findings in jigsaw groups or as a whole class seminar, then write an extended response justifying their final diagnosis.
This product contains:
• Student directions to help students get into role as psychiatric residents.
• One page summaries of four personality disorders: Antisocial, Paranoid, Narcissistic, and Borderline.
• A student worksheet, “Iago’s Symptom Tracker” that asks students to summarize their reading and justify their ideas with textual evidence from Othello.
