Product Description
Use your students' interest in social media to help spice up your unit plan on William Shakespeare's play, Othello, with these Character Tweet Sheets. This Twitter-style activity can be used as quizzes, group work, bell-ringers, or a fun review at the end of your lesson plan.

All of the play's major and minor characters are included, along with the author, William Shakespeare.

There are a variety of ways in which you can use these Character Tweet Sheets in your lessons. The most obvious way would be to use them at the end of the text, as a way to review character motivations and feelings. These could also be used after your class has read a particular section of the text, as a way for students to interact with what they just read and to get into the minds of the characters. Each character makes up a complete sheet, so you can print all or just specific sheets depending on how you plan to use them.

The last page of Tweet Sheets is for the author. Have students get into the mind of the author and write a Tweet reflecting the author’s final message of the work. This is a great way to get your students thinking about big ideas and the author’s purpose.

The last page of this file contains a Trending Now page, where you can compile the students’ character hashtags. Compiling the hashtags can let you know what ideas are sticking with your students. You can also use the first page of this bundle as your display title. I’d suggest printing this title page and the Trending Now page on colored paper and laminating. Once laminated, you can use a dry erase marker to write the hashtags, erasing when you want to start over.
