This product contains a thoroughly researched five minute talk on video discussing the theme of honesty in the play 'Othello'.
Then there is an activity in the form of a game based on the board game 'Balderdash'. This game, called 'Claptrap' involves the students in an investigation of the truthfulness or otherwise of 30 quotations from the play.
Guidelines are provided with suggested answers to all the quotation challenges.
Rules of play and the elements of the game are provided. All you need to do is print them out. Just set aside enough time to cut out all the elements and maybe paste them onto board.
The game allows for around 5 participants so the idea is that several groups should play at a time.
Not only is this great fun but it also rewards knowledge of the dialogue, presents a different and unusual way of analyzing the text, reinforces understanding of character and encourages discussion on themes related to honesty like truth, virtue and trust.
