Used like an ABC, Blends, Long-Vowel digraphs, or r-controlled variant vowels chart.
Example- o o says /oo/ in broom, etc.
Students begin these charts around spring break. They spend a few weeks doing these in the mornings during familiar reading, before they begin doing the patterns in phonics lessons. Students become familiar with the patterns and begin recognizing them in words.
I do all 5 charts from March until the end of school. It takes less than 10 minutes every day.
