This book is to assist students in the study of each of the 50 U.S. States. It is meant to be filled in together as a whole group, but could also be used in small groups or as an independent research assignment.
Purchase includes a copy of the booklet along with a key for the basic information about each state. Each booklet has a cover page for students to color in/personalize, a color coding map for the five regions (you can choose which color each region should be), and a spot to fill out information about each of the 50 states. There are two states on each page to save paper. State pages include state name (which could be colored in by students), blank U.S. map (so students can locate and color in the specific state, my class color-codes according to which region the state belonged to), and spaces for students to write the region, nickname, capital, date of statehood, and state initials.
This book is a time-efficient way to expose students to critical information about U.S. history and geography. It would be easy to fill in one state a day for 50 days. States are listed in the order they were founded so that students gain an awareness of American history. Suggestion: use this in conjunction with a book or video clip about each state and complete one state a day for a quick lesson.
