This book is to assist students in the study of each of the 50 U.S. States. It is meant to be filled in together as a whole group, but could also be used in small groups or as an independent research assignment.
Purchase includes four copies of the book- one with a color cover, one with a black and white cover, an answer key, and a version which lists "region" instead of "motto." There is a page for each state. State pages include state name (which could be colored in by students), blank U.S. map (so students can locate and color in the specific state, my class color-coded according to which region the state belonged to), and spaces for students to write the order the state was founded along with state nickname, capital, birthday, initials, motto, name used to refer to residents of the state, and key facts of the teacher's choice.
This book is a time-efficient way to expose students to critical information about U.S. history and geography. It would be easy to fill in one state a day for 50 days. States are listed in the order they were founded so that students gain an awareness of American history. Suggestion: use this in conjunction with a book or video clip about each state and complete one state a day for a quick states lesson.
