-themed unit, this quick, easy and fun writing prompt booklet, is an interesting way to learn a bit about your students’ customs, traditions, celebrations

unit, this class book makes a wonderful activity to supplement your others; just “Print & Go
The packet includes a Christmas
-themed class book, as well as a generic “celebrations”
Pick which is most appropriate for your classroom, or mix & match
, doing a Christmas one, but giving the generic pages to students who don’t celebrate Christmas.
Besides the writing prompt template, there’s also a page for students to illustrate
, as well as one for a photograph
. Do both, or give children a choice.
I’ve included a completed sample
you can share to help explain things, but be sure and make an example of your own, as students really enjoy learning about their teacher.
This can be done in class
or as a home-school connection, to be completed as homework
Collect everyone’s contribution, add the cover (2 choices)
, collate and staple into a class-made book.
Have each child share their page, then put it in your classroom library.
Class-made books are wonderful for open house and parent-teacher conferences
Run off a copy of my world map
and hang it on your board.
As students tell the names of the countries their family is from, have them color in those sections of the world map.
I’ve also included a matching map worksheet
which parents can help their child complete.
