I designed this for the first grade teachers at the schools where I work: they wanted something some kind of "morning warmup" for their kids which would be based on a "daily number." So, I took the name of "Our Daily Bread" bakery that used to be in my neighborhood (their slogan was "prepare to meet your baker"), and made it "our daily number" and then put in the different ways you could write the number.
I made two different versions which you can mix and match. One is aligned to the "Go Math!" program, which I truly hate, but uses "ten frames" which I don't hate, so I put that as one way of representing the number. The other version was for teachers who use TERCs "Investigations Into Number, Data and Space" so they could represent the number as base 10 rods and cubes.
They can also practice writing the number in expanded form, as an addition or subtraction sentence, and there's even a part where they can write about their "favorite thing about the number" (as long as it isn't 69....)
Anyway, it's free, so enjoy and tell me if you want further versions of it. I can modify it and hopefully you'll like it even better.
