CH 7. Our living constitution

The Constitution of the United States has survived because it can respond to the needs of a growing and changing society.
This chapter illustrates the flexibility of the Constitution by examining the amendments that extended citizenship and suffrage to a greater number of Americans.
The role of the Supreme Court in applying constitutional principles to a changing society is also examined.
