This is a religious reader's theater intended for a small group of 4 students. In the script, Students are discussing the upcoming National Day of Prayer. Samuel thinks that it is a day when you can say ALL your prayers for the entire year but the others explain to him why that wouldn’t be a good idea. They also explain that the National Day of Prayer is a day for praying for our country. All of them make a plan to take part in the National Day of Prayer as well. It would make a great skit performed before a sermon or before a discussion in class. I use reader's theaters to encourage my students to practice fluency. It is a fun way to do something that they need. Most of my scripts are in black and white so they photo copy easily. The problem with many other reader's theaters is that students spend a lot of time waiting for their part. When you have a small group they get more practice in and less off task behaviors take place. My name is Melanie Whitesides but my store name is Wonbyone and I hope that your students enjoy this script as much as mine did. Let me know how things go!
