This Power Point is a great way to practice area for 3rd grade students. It can certainly be a review for 4th graders who are starting a unit on area.
This is designed to be used interactively as Power Point but works best when used in conjunction with a Smart Board or some other type of interactive software that allows you to annotate on the slide. There is not a specific recording sheet because each slide requires such different types of answers and space. I encourage you to have your students use a journal to record .
If you do not have any type of software that allows you to annotate on the actual slide, that’s okay. You can simply use each slide as a teaching point for discussion and have students use their journal to record. I’ve included slides at the end that you can print. They are grayscale copies with 2 slides to a page.
**In an effort to save your ink the printable slides at the end (2 per page) are not in color. If you would like them in color, please leave a comment in the question tab on TPT and I’ll send those to you in color.
*Have students use the grayscale slides and glue into a math journal as you go through the PPT .
*The grayscale slides would also be great to use one as exit tickets.
