Use these student sentence starters (3rd-8th grade) mid-lesson or at the close of a lesson to have students self-assess and/or provide you feedback on what they are learning. Print them and cut them out, laminate and pass them out to pairs of students. For example, if you have just completed a lesson on rectangular arrays, direct students to choose a sentence starter and finish the sentence, like, "I still don't understand how the array helps me multiply." Record their responses and/or reteach as needed.
Meets CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.SL.1 for grades 3rd-8th.
