Teaching about Outer Space can get dull especially when it comes to multiple choice questions and rote memorization. This Classroom Break out makes practicing the concepts you've been teaching with moon phases, rotation and revolution/earth cycles, and the planets fun! Students love doing these activities and get the teamwork and practice they need before an assessment or end of the unit. (I use this with fifth grade, it could definitely be used in a middle school classroom).
For this Break Out you WILL NEED:
-One Lock Box
-One Lock (Four Combination)
-These Clues (Cut and Placed in the Correct Location)
-Manilla Envelopes (Recommended)
In this Break Out the Following Concepts are Covered:
-Earth Cycles (Day/Night/Seasons/Year)
NOTE: This can be adapted to a fourth-grade classroom or if you haven't taught one or two of the concepts by adding a short non-fiction article with one of the clues.
