WHAT IT IS:
A FREE download to display Math Centers. This is my first year teaching Math and knew that I wanted to do math centers. My students also enjoy math centers and getting to practice their skills in different ways as well as spaces around the room. In my first grade classroom, "math facts" is usually some sort of flashcards or fluency game. "At your seat" is always independent practice in their math books. "Teacher" is with me at my teacher table checking their independent practice then giving a reteaching or enrichment worksheet. "Hands on" is always a game; whether isn't on the board, computer games, etc. My stations are typically about 10 minutes each. After each round, I move my group display to their next station. Before the winter break, I had students grouped by their tables. But after they have taken their standardized math test, I will be grouping them based on their scores and the topic that we are learning! That's where the group member display comes in. The display will always be on the math bulletin board for the students to reference and will change based on their ability in that subject (algebraic thinking, geometry, etc.).
-4 Center Labeled Posters:
M (Math Facts)
A (At Your Seat)
H (Hands On)
-4 Moveable Group Labels (stick small Velco dots on the back for quick and easy moving!)
-4 Group Member Display (cut sticky notes up into smaller pieces and write your students name; sticky notes are easier to move around when it comes time to change your groups!)
