Students may use these worksheets to write summaries, or you may provide your students with writing prompts. This writing activity is great for students who are ready to write paragraphs.
Students write keyword notes for an introduction, 3 body sentences, and a conclusion. Each line of notes should have enough keywords to create one sentence. The rule of thumb is to include 3-5 words per line.
Encourage your students to use descriptive words when writing notes. The notes for the introduction and conclusion should be similar but not exactly the same.
Once the outline is complete, have each student use his or her keyword notes to write a paragraph. Students may also draw a picture. If more room is needed, use the included handwriting paper.
