Students can choose from one of 5 literary analysis questions to respond to. They must cite evidence from the text in each response. Two of the prompts are argumentative. All essay prompts incorporate text-based literary analysis, argument, and informational/expository writing components. An examination of the entire novel is required. The outline provided will help to guide both teachers and students through the process of composing a literary analysis essay.
This can serve as a final in-class exam, or it can be used for a more lengthy writing lesson/project.
