The Outsiders, by S.E. Hinton
5 Easy Steps for Writing Essay Questions
Let's face it. We all work so diligently to teach our kids to write five paragraph essays. Now, I am not saying that this is a mistake, however most of the writing tasks our students will face in the future will involve answering essay questions and not writing formal essays. For example, students will need to pass tests to get into college or graduate school. Also they will have to apply jobs. All of these experiences may involve writing impromptu essay questions.
Think of yourself, what are the last three writing tasks you had to do? Didn't they involve doing an essay question? Remember the PRAXIS? Besides answering essay questions help your students ACE, not only Language Arts; but also Science, Social Studies, or whatever discipline they are studying.
