This is a packet of printables, made by Christy at ideasbyChristy.blogspot.com, to help students learn and remember the ow and ou digraphs. It has picture cards and stories to go along with them to help explain the sounds. It also has 2 fun activity pages to help reinforce the concepts.
Pages 3-6: Ow-Let it Snow! Picture card and story to help kids remember that ow can say the long o sound like in snow. (Both in color & in b/w).
Page 7: Snowflake Ow Page. A snowflake activity to help kids practice reading and writing ow words. After writing the words from the word bank onto the lines, kids can fold & cut their paper into a snowflake by following the correct fold and cut lines shown on the page.
Pages 8-11: Ou-Ouch! & Ow-Ow! Picture card and story to help kids remember that ow and ou can both make the same sound like in the words ouch and ow. (Both in color & in b/w.)
Page 12: “Bandaid Words” Page. A practice page where the students cut out ow and ou bandaid words. Then they sort and glue the words into the right categories on the page.
