This is a packet of activities I use with my kindergarten class after reading the book "Owl Babies" by Martin Waddell.
This activity packet includes:
Roll the dice Owl Path Game.
Print out a game board. Use counters and a dice (I use a dice with +1, +2, -1, -2, +1, +2 on it. The players take turns rolling the dice and moving their counter up the tree.
Three Baby Owls Fill in the blank book.
Pages are "Three baby owls live in a _______." "Three baby owls are hungry for ________." "Three baby owls tell their mama _______."
Upper/Lowercase Letter Sort
Cut out owls, have students sort the owls on the uppercase/ lowercase branches.
Graphing Owls Sheet Students
Graph how many of each owl is on the branch.
Woodland Animal Write The Room
Print the animal cards. Tape them around the classroom.
Students take the recording sheet and look for the animals, and write the words as they find them.
Owl Labeling Page
Students use kindergarten spelling to label the parts of an owl picture.
One More/ One Less Sheet
Write the number that is one more and one less in the spaces provided.
"Name tags" for kids to act out the story Owl Babies (Mama, Sarah, Percy, Bill).
