If you’re looking for a fun way to engage your students in thinking about the choices they make, you’ve come to the right place! They will be motivated to “soar high” in your classroom with this owl-themed behavior chart. I suggest writing each child’s name on a clothespin to make it easy for them to move up and down the chart. Have students start on the green “Owlet” stage and move up or down the chart based on the choices they make. Since the home-school connection makes all the difference in the world, I’ve included a couple of options for reporting daily behavior to parents. There’s also a communication log that you can photocopy on the back of each child’s chart; you can use it to write brief notes about behavior as needed. Finally, I’ve included a “Hoot, Hoot, Hooray!” certificate that you can use to write positive behavior notes to your students! I’m happy to answer any questions or comments about this product- just email:
One more teacher tip: For extra motivation, you can have your students work towards rewards for earning a certain number of “Soaring High!” days. For example, upon earning 5 “Soaring High!” days, students can select a prize from a treasure box, eat lunch in the classroom, or have 10 minutes of free time in the classroom. Use a tally or sticker chart to keep track of the “Soaring High!” days each student earns.
